Introducing "The Basic Income Show" on YouTube

After 29 episodes of the ITSA Live! weekly audio-only chat I've been hosting on Twitter on Wednesdays alongside my co-hosts Conrad Shaw and Josh Worth, we decided to switch to a new video format and a new name.

Similar to what we've been doing, we'll focus on discussing recent developments in the basic income world and invite occasional special guests to talk about basic income from different perspectives and contexts.

In this first episode we introduce our new AI-generated (but human written) theme song and talk about the new FOX/Hulu animated series "Universal Basic Guys" before moving on to talking about the debate in the UK about their Winter Fuel Payments they just decided to means-test. Next we talk about the arms race that seems to be taking shape around expanding the child tax credit, and finally we discuss the fact that both Trump and Biden support a U.S. sovereign wealth fund.

This first episode was not live-streamed, but future episodes will be and will be simulcast on my YouTube, Twitter/X, Facebook, and Twitch accounts. Live listeners will be able to reply to us in real-time, and we will also be able to have the occasional listener step up and join our discussion. For those who want to watch and listen live, we'll aim to continue doing these on Wednesdays at 12pm ET.
